The Friends of the VBPD
Mounted Patrol have provided support for over 20 years to the horses and
officers of the VBMP.
The Virginia Beach
Mounted Patrol has 13 officers and 1 sergeant. While the oceanfront is a
priority during the summer months, the citizens of Virginia Beach can
observe the Mounted Patrol working in areas such as shopping centers and
malls, high school football games, amphitheater concerts, Town Center, and
in various neighborhoods throughout the year.
